Rules and Regulations
1. Youth goat classes are open to residents from Augusta County, other Virginia Counties, and surrounding states.
2. Youth exhibitors may not be over 19 years of age by Sept. 30, 2010.
3. Please use the livestock entry form to enter goats into the show.Name of exhibit is the same as name of the animal.
4. Refer to general rules that apply to the goat department.
5. A health certificate signed, within 30 days of the show by an accredited veterinarian must accompany goats. All goats must conform to the legal requirements for health and identification.
6. All goats will be examined by a committee member for any foot rot, abscesses or illness before entering the barn. Any animals deemed unfit or unhealthy must be removed from the grounds immediately.
7. Exhibitors must provide their own bedding for their livestock and they must also clean up the animal's pen before leaving. No pens will be available until Thursday after 3:00 PM.
8. Goats must have an ear tag or scrapie tag.
9. All goat entries must be shown by the exhibitor except when they have two or more entries per class; then another youth can show the animal.
10. When filling out the entry form, make sure to specify the Division.
For example: Division I – Youth
ENTRY FEES: No fee for Section A – Showmanship
$3.00/head in Sections B, C and D $5.00/pair in Section E

Class 1: Senior (age 15-19)
Class 2: Intermediate (age 10-14)
Class 3: Junior (age 5-9)

*Only Augusta County residents are eligible to advance and compete for Supreme Showmanship
